What is the Investigative Judgment all about, is it Biblical?

Biblical Day of Judgment
INVESTIGATIVE JUDGEMENT Re-examined.

Biblical support for the Investigative Judgement...

(part one of six)

Here are some important questions we will explore in this bible study. Is there an appointed Judgment Day in the future that will include all those who profess to be Christians as well as those who do not profess to be?  Are you once saved always saved?  Did Christ Enter the Holy or Most Holy Place in the heavenly sanctuary upon His ascension to heaven? Is it Relevant today? Or in other words did the Atonement begin and end with the Lord's Jesus sacrifice on Calvary's tree? Or was Calvary just the beginning of the Atonement and the antitypical day of Atonement that would continue in the sanctuary in heaven? Is there a two apartment Sanctuary in Heaven where Christ is an active High Priest and Mediator? And if there is a Sanctuary in Heaven and a Mediatorial work going on there, is it about an investigation as to who are really saved and a final examination of their characters/profession and then a final judgment? What it the Investigative Judgment all about? Are all professed Christians saved and therefore never again judged? What is meant by no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus?

The Word of God says: 1st Peter 4:17-18 "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?"
The Word of God is clear that there is a judgement not just for the unsaved sinners,but for everyone according to their works, deeds or choices. It says in the above text that judgment must start with the house of God that is those who profess to be Christian and it says if the righteous scarcely be saved... Not everyone who says that they believe in the Lord Jesus will be saved, the Lord Jesus said in Matthew 7:20-23 "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.The Greek word here iniquity is the word lawlessness. Lawlessness is sin and sin is the transgression of the law. Whosoever is breaking any of the Ten Commandment laws of God and not confessing and repenting of their sins, and by the grace of Christ have not received forgiveness of their sins will not be cleansed of them no matter how much they profess to be. If there is no law, then there is no sin and then there is no confession and repenting of sin and you are left in your sins. In the Word of God we have a clear definition of sin, it is the transgression of the Ten Commandment Laws and the lack of Christ like Love.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ for good works, which God prepared before that we should walk in them.” Eph. 2:8-10. We are not save by good works, but we will not be saved without them. “Faith without works is dead.” James 2:20.
Whosoever commits sin also commits lawlessness,and sin is lawlessness.” 1st John 3:4. “If you really fulfill the royal law (notice here the Apostle James calls the law the “royal law” and identifies it as the Ten Commandment Laws of God) according to the scriptures, you shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well; but if you show partiality, you commit sin and are convicted by the law as a transgressor, for whoever shall keep the whole law ; and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he who said,do not commit adultery also said, do not murder! Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.” ( Note the Ten Commandments are also called the Law of Liberty’) James 2:8-12. And the spirit of the Ten Commandment Laws is Love. Love needs to be the true reason and action for obedience. If you Love your neighbor you will not kill them or sin against them, not because the law of God or of the land says not to, but because you love them and respect that they are God's children.
So not all who profess to be saved Christians really are. There is a work of over coming selfishness and sin in the faith of Christ. We are to overcome just as He overcame by trusting in the inspired written Word of God and living by faith in it. Christ overcame the devil and temptation by faith in God the Father's Love and His Word. He said "It is Written...And if we trust the Word of God which is the testimony of the Lord Jesus He will give us power, love and grace in every time of need.
If some who profess to be Christians do not overcome sin and selfishness and continue to live in sin, their names can be blotted out or removed from the Book of Life. Rev 2:25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: So there will be a judgment based on God's Law even under the New Covenant and all will be judged we must all appear before the judgment. Some upon investigation and examination of their life,characters and Christian profession will be excused from the final judgment. What it the judgement about and why? Let's look into it more shall we? 1Timothy 5:24-25 Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after. Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid. Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Does God need an investigation to determine who are really trusting in the righteousness of Christ? No! I am not saying that God needs this investigation for a final judgment determination. I am suggesting that the Investigative Judgment is for all the saints and all the holy unfallen beings in heaven and even in other worlds. The Investigative Judgment is not for God to know...But it is to also vindicate God's character and all His dealings with sin and sinners. Because Satan is an accuser, an advesary of God and the saints. The Investigative Judgment  is for everyone else to know, so that there will never be any doubt as to God's love and justice in all His dealings with sin and sinners. What if there were some people in heaven that you thought should never be there? Or what if there are some people who did not make it to heaven that you thought should be there? Well what if everyone in heaven had their own opinions as to who should be saved/redeemed from the earth? How confusing would that be? And also what if Satan and His fallen evil angels were to keep falsely acussing God of not being a loving and just God? But there will be no need to wonder, to doubt, there will be books in heaven books that have recorded every sin of every person, their opportunities to be saved and their choices. Some have been given the opportunity time and time again to accept Christ and His Word and they have rejected it time and time again. Everything has been recorded. The Word of God says there are Books in Heaven. Now these may or may not be like literal books we have here. It could be symbolic language for records, they could be even electronic records with audio and video. The Word says that: Dan 7:10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

 Dan 7:22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom." The saints are going to investigate the books of records and final judgement will be with them. 1st Corinthians 6:2-3 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?1Co 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
It also says: Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

2Co 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."
Notice it does not say that only non-Christians will be judged. We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ...But for those who are found to have on the wedding garment of Christ there is no condemnation for them. Those who are written in the "Lamb's Book of Life."

Heb 10:30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
No Condemnation/ Righteousness By Faith

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  Of course there is no condemnation to those who are genuine Christians. It is conditional you cannot just profess to be a Christian. You must live as a Christian, you must live movitated by love by the Holy Spirit and walk in the Spirit not fulfilling the passions and desires of the flesh. Those who are in Christ are saved by His love and grace not the law of God. But those who are saved who have the Holy Spirit will not desire or willfully chose to keep sinning against God and humanity. We will have the law in our hearts and minds! Is not that the promise of the new covenant?

Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Joh 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. Joh 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;Joh 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. Joh 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. So it is clear that those who are in Christ Jesus and are not condemned are those that have overcome sin trusting in Christ and obeying His Word. Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

“But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, 'You will not covet.' (desire) But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. Romans 7:6-10
Do you love humanity? If you are breaking the Ten Commandments which demonstrate violation of love for God and humanity, then you are sinning against your brothers and sister you are showing you do not love God or them, your neighbor-humanity. “He that says, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” 1st John 2:4. “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loves not his brother abides in death.” 1st John 3:14  “And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.” Acts 5:32
Blending the Law and Gospel / R.B.F. continued...
“Do we then make void the law of God through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. Rom. 3:31. {OHC 141.1}
“We hear so many who are deceived by the enemy constantly claiming, "I am saved"; but . . . they show such contempt of God's rule of righteousness that we know that they . . . know nothing of saving grace. The heart is not in harmony with the law of God, but is at enmity with that law. Thus was the great rebel in heaven. Will the Lord take men and women to heaven who have no respect for the law of His universe? ...{O H C 141.2}
“What is to bring the sinner to the knowledge of his sins unless he knows what sin is? The only definition of sin in the Word of God is given us in 1 John 3:4. "Sin is the transgression of the law." The sinner must be made to feel that he is a transgressor. Christ dying upon the cross of Calvary is drawing his attention. Why did Christ die? Because it was the only means for man to be saved. . . He took upon Himself our sins that He might impute His righteousness to all who believe in Him. . . . The goodness and the love of God lead the sinner to repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. The awakened sinner . . . is pointed to the law he has transgressed. It calls to him to repent, yet there is no saving quality in law to pardon the  transgression of law, and his case seems hopeless. But the law draws him to Christ. However deep are his sins of transgression, the blood of Jesus Christ can cleanse him from all sin. . . . {Our High Calling 141.3}
“I would call on all who would win heaven, to take warning. Do not devote your precious probationary time to sewing together fig leaves to cover the nakedness which is the result of sin. As you look into the Lord’s great moral looking glass, His holy law, His standard of character, do not for a moment suppose that it can cleanse you. There are no saving properties in the law. It cannot pardon the transgressor. The penalty must be exacted. The Lord does not save sinners by abolishing, His law, the foundation of His government in heaven and in earth. The punishment has been endured by the sinner’s substitute... In the councils of heaven, before the world was created, the Father and the Son covenanted together that if man proved disloyal to God, Christ, one with the Father, would take the place of the transgressor, and suffer the penalty of justice that must fall upon him.” Manuscript 145,1897
Investigation Going on in Heaven
Part of the Investigative Judgment is for heavenly beings/angels and will take place in heaven before Christ returns to take the saints home. But for the saints and mostly for sinners the final Executive Judgment will take place after Christ returns and redeems the saints and then after the 1000 years in heaven when the saints complete their work of  Investigative Judgment, Christ will execute the final judgment on Satan and all unrepentant sinners and this is the second Resurrection in which their is no life but condemnation and hell fires follow it.
Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
1st Corinthians 6:2-3 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?1Co 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
